Back To Our Regular Station…

November 13th, 2008

So as our previous post mentioned, we spent the past month touring across Canada, and documenting it via an Exlclaim tour blog.  We’ll be returning to this blog once again to resume our internetting.  If you’ve missed it, there are lots of photos/video/words you should check out over there:

So tomorrow at noon we’ll be packing up the van and heading to our first stop on the tour: Sudbury.  Afraid you won’t hear from us until we’re home? Have no worries - we’ll be keeping a tour blog over here at Exclaim!

I think that our feelings about past tours can be summed up by the image found below:

Play Young Rival Guitar Fishing!

September 29th, 2008

This just in: Guitar Fishing is a flash-based game created/programmed by John - it features an un-released B-side (T-Shirt & Shorts) from their NYC EP sessions. Do you have what it takes to make the ‘High Score Hero’ list?

Credit for the game concept goes to  Drew Smith (John’s brother).  He had a dream in which he was floating down the Nile on a lillypad, shredding guitar. He eventually realized that his guitar neck was doubling as a fishing rod. John thought that sounded like a great video game, so he made it happen.

Them Snakes

the Deadly Snakes

At approximately 2:33 am on Sunday September 8 2008, it dawned on me that “Oh Lord My Heart” by The (infamous) Deadly Snakes might be one of the greatest songs ever written.  Why did this band have to break up?  Go to www.myspace.com/thedeadlysnakes and see for yourself.  Though we’ve only met one of these guys over the course of our travels, I feel close to this band, for reasons that remain unknown to me.

Welcome Back Winston

August 22nd, 2008

We thought our van was stolen last night because it wasn’t where we last parked it…

Turns out it was towed away for a silly parking violation, which (considering the circumstance) was best case scenario.  Much relief after that gut-sinking feeling we had thinking it was a goner. After lots of running around today, we’ve got him back.

To our van:

Welcome back Winston Vanimal, welcome back.  I hope you had a fun night out on your own, and we promise not to ignore as much as we have been lately.  It was worth paying all the parking tickets and tow costs just to get you and your beautiful scent back.  I look forward to sitting in you again for long periods of time.
